Hello again Goodricke,

Were coming up on the end of Spring Term, which means it’s time for us to call on all those interested to apply to be STYCs next year. What is a STYC? Well they’re Second or Third (or Fourth or Fifth) Contacts, probably better known as “those people who look after you in freshers week”. Being a STYC means you’ll be looking after a whole flat of freshers during next freshers week, making sure they’re safe and sound, and they’re first week in Goodricke is as good as possible.

To be a STYC you must be a current undergraduate available for Freshers Week 2018 (22/09/18 to 28/09/18) and a member of Goodricke College. Interviews for the position will take place in Summer Term Weeks 1 and 2 . Please note that the week will be tiring but you should never put STYC duties before academic work or your mental and physical health. Compulsory training will take place in Summer Term Week 8, with a second training session in Autumn Term Week 0.

If you think you have what it takes, you can sign up (or get just get more info) here. Applications end on Friday the 16th of March (end of Week 10), so make sure to apply soon! If you have any questions feel free to get in touch using our contact form.

Have a good week Goodricke,

Jacob Allen
