Goodricke College celebrated its 50th Anniversary and the end of exams in style on the 1st June 2019 with the Goodricke JCRC going above and beyond to make Goodfest, or for one year only ‘Goldfest’, a success.

Goodfest saw pole dancers, student bands, DJ ‘Qwirk’, a samba band, cheerleaders, the college sports awards and, yes, the one and only TINCHY STRYDER take to the stage! Even the Goodricke mascot, Ricke (aka Stephen Stanley), made a memorable stage performance! With food vans, a “rollercoaster”, outdoor activities, bubble football, henna, tie-dye, face-painting, tombola and so much more on offer the day was unforgettable and undoubtedly made Goodfest one of the biggest student Hes East events of the year!

The Goodricke College area was transformed into a gold decorated, fun-filled area attracting hundreds of students, alumni and local families to make ‘Goldfest’ a day to remember. Starting from 12pm, people began to flow into Goodricke, enjoying the sunshine, and taking in the university talent in the lead up to the evening headliner Tinchy Stryder, whose performance included a world exclusive of his new single.

So here is to next year, as Goodfest continues to become one of the most standout University of York college events of the year!

The JCRC would like to thank all those who came down to the event, the College Team for their support and all the amazing acts and societies that took part and performed on the day!
