Goodricke College cares strongly about the personal and academic development of its students, and above all fostering an exceptional community spirit. Goodricke is located on the University of York, Campus East and is home to around 600 resident students, with roughly 1500 members overall. We have some of the latest and highest quality accommodation as the first of several colleges to move to Campus East in 2009. Our accommodation consists of single study bedrooms, studio flats, shared houses, and accessible rooms, which are organised in blocks.

Goodricke holds regular social events, such as the Goodricke Gallop, BBQs, Film Nights, etc. which allow students to socialise, relax, and make friends. We encourage our students to try new things, with a focus on volunteering and enterprise allowing our students to develop their skills and experience, and explore who they want to be. For more info see Get Involved.

Goodricke College also has a set of aims, we hope to:

  • Stimulate academic attainment
  • Create cohesive communities
  • Develop skills and employability
  • Promote diversity, ethics, and intercultural and environmental sensitivity
  • And encourage wellbeing

You can read more about these aims in the College Constitution (not to be confused with the JCRC Constitution).
